Admin Features

Configure App Admins​

  • Navigate to Apps in the Slack menu and select Profile For Slack.
  • Add people as app admins to allow them to manage settings.

Celebration Settings​

  • Navigate to Apps in the Slack menu and select Profile For Slack.
  • Options are the same for both birthdays and work anniversaries.
  • Click on the respective option, select the channel (ensure @ProfileForSlack is in the channel using /invite @ProfileForSlack), and then confirm the selection.
  • Choose a timezone to send all celebration messages at the same time, or leave it blank for users to receive them in their preferred timezone.
  • Set the time for sending messages to the channel.
  • For birthdays that fall Monday to Friday, the notification will be sent on the same day.
  • For weekend birthdays (Saturday–Sunday), choose whether to send the notification on Friday before or Monday after.

Work Anniversary Management​

  • Navigate to Apps in the Slack menu and select Profile For Slack.
  • Click on Add or Edit Users’ Work Anniversaries to update details.
  • For bulk updates, select up to 10 people at a time and submit their details.

Collect Celebration Dates​

  • Navigate to Apps in the Slack menu and select Profile For Slack.
  • Click on Settings inside the app.
  • In the Collect Celebration Dates section, click on "Send Reminder", then select the desired channel (ensure that @ProfileForSlack has been invited using /invite @ProfileForSlack).
  • A pre-filled message will appear in a modal — feel free to customize it.
  • Submit the message to post it in the selected channel.
  • The message will include a button prompting team members to share their birthdays and work anniversaries.
  • After sending the message, click Send Reminder to nudge people who haven’t responded.

Coffee Chat Pairing​

  • Navigate to Apps in the Slack menu and select Profile For Slack.
  • Select the desired group size, time, and channel for notifications.
  • The bot will group people (who have created a profile) based on the selected size.
  • AI-generated conversation starters will be provided based on profile details.

Praise Analytics​

  • Navigate to Apps in the Slack menu and select Profile For Slack.
  • Fill in the form to generate analytics.
  • The bot will send details of the top recognized individuals and top recognizers in the selected channel.

Insights​

  • Navigate to Apps in the Slack menu and select Profile For Slack.
  • Celebration Insights: View the total number of people who have submitted birthdays or work anniversaries and how many notifications have been sent over different time frames.
  • Praise Insights: Select a date range to see details of praise sent or received, and sort accordingly.
